Each with a ring-turned crest centering clasped rosette set within back scrolling stiles centering a gilded anthemion-shaped spat above a trapezoidal rush seat fronted by a ring-turned rail, on ring and column-turned tapering legs headed by gilt stenciled leaves joined by a flat front stretcher centering a gilded rosette, all on a blue-green ground with gilded detailing. 32.5 inches to the top of their backs, 16 inches deep, 18 inches to the top of their seats and 17 inches wide at front. Just in from a CT estate in as found original condition. See Christies NY Important American Furniture sale 9054 lots 746 and 747 page 198 and 199 for identical pairs sold at auction.
