The original ivory label in the top drawer reads "Decorators and Furnishers New York". This chest was made with the finest mahogany by a master craftsman. It has a hand cut dovetailed front, wide hand cut dovetailed drawers sides,and ivory diamond key escutcheons.This an exact period reproduction of a American 18th century chest. Early American country Hepplewhite pine work table c1840 Item # 5981 Click HERE to inquire about this item Early American country Hepplewhite pine work table 1820 to c1840. This is a very difficult piece to find because of its size, which measures 29 and one half inches wide by 18 inches deep and 29 inches high. Single wide board top and sides. The front, sides, and back are all held with hand made wooden pins. The early knobs where removed and replace with brass pulls at one time, but have now been put back to original. This highboy is all original except the brasses which are period reproductions. Made most probably in New Hampshire from birch with a hand waxed patina. Measures 74 and one quarter inches high, 36 and one half inches wide at base, and 36 and one half inches at the top drawers. The top is 20 inches deep and the bottom is 22 inches. Early 19th century.
