It is a machine-made set, including the carving. It was made in the late nineteen-thirties. The stock numbers stamped on the back panels are not particular to any one specific factory, making it hard to identify what company manufactured it. The style is Louis XV French. The metal mountings are meant to imitate ormolu, the gold-plated bronze mountings found on period (18th century) Louis XV furniture.

Mahogany, mahogany veneers with other secondary woods used for drawer bottoms and back panels. The style is a mix of traditional Georgian period designs, including Chippendale (fretwork and pediment of cabinet), Sheraton (sideboard and table), and Hepplewhite (chair backs). The wide panels on the back of the sideboard and the cabinet are plywood, indicating that this set was probably made between 1930 and 1950. It is a beautiful set. Table measures 62 inches wide extends to 74 inches with one 12 inch leaf it is 41 and one half inches deep and measures 30 inches high. The armchair measures 21 and one half inches wide and is 18 and one half inches deep and measures 40 and three quarter inches high. The side chairs measure 19 inches wide, 17 and one half inches deep and 39 and one half inches high. The china cabinet measures 38 inches wide, 16 and one half inches deep and 65 and three quarter inches high. The sideboard measures 66 inches wide, 21 inches deep, and is 37 and three eighths inches high.
