Antique English Satin Wood Wardrobe Item # 2796 Click HERE to inquire about this item English satin wood wardrobe measures 55 inches wide 87 inches tall 21 and three quarters inches deep,19 inches inside the doors c1780 to 1820. Has two 7 and one half-inch drawers. Lovely banded inlay. This cupboard was fitted inside to hold a TV and stereo. The satinwood used in this piece is absolutely beautiful and actually feels like satin to the touch. Condition is quite good for a piece from this period. The pulls have been replaced and there is a slight warp the the left door which is the case with all period English linen cabinets and wardrobes in this form. Impressive, useful, and beautiful. This wonderful hand made hand hewed console table was made from a single 18th century pine board with straight tapered legs, bread board ends and wooden pin construction by a local master craftsman. We have a master craftsman that has agreed to painstakingly make hand made tables in the Early American 18th century manner. These are tables who's size and quality and design we can just not find in our daily searches for fine antiques. They are made by hand with antique block planes which give that lovely hand hewed look.Each tables size is determined by the size of the 18th century board we find, no two will be the same. Early boards have the most beautiful deep rich patina which simply can not be duplicated with new boards. The top board retains all its original wear which gives it the true period look that is the most desirable.
