Click HERE to inquire about this item

RARE American Federal twist leg three drawer mahogany work stand c1825 to1830. This is only the second three drawer Sheraton work stand we have had for sale in our thirty years of selling fine American Federal Furniture. Most work stands have either one or two drawers. This Sheraton twist leg work stand measures 21 and one half inches wide,17 inches deep and 30 inches high with three drawers that measures 3 and three quarters,3 and three quarters, and 3 inches. They are all 15 and one half inches wide. Original finish and key. Replaced brass knobs from Horton brass Co which makes exact reproduction hardware. Please notice how the cabinet maker made the front and back legs so that they appose each other. This is much more difficult to do than carving four legs that all turn in the same directions. Only the best cabinet makers took the time to make apposing legs.
