This period American country drop leaf table has four legs.The two that open to hold the leaves are wooden pinned to their knuckle arm swing outs. The case is hand dovetailed. The table measures 42 inches wide by 16 and one half inches deep and 29 inches high. The drop leaves are each 12 inches. The finish is an old rich varnish. Some of the hinges have been replaced or moved. The underneath of the leaves and table top have clamp marks made from old apple peelers, sewing birds, cherry pitters etc., they are just want we want to see underneath tables from this period. It is hard to say if this is the original top to the base but it is of the period and the color matches perfectly.

This is an amazing set. The owls were each individually cast and set into the backs of the chairs and settee with iron pins. The settee and the chairs were each made by hand from wrought iron. This set came to us from an important New England estate. It was designed for the family in the 1920 to 1930 period. The settee measures 56 and one half inches wide, 34 inches high and 24 inches deep. Each of the two chairs measures 34 inches high by 34 inches wide and 23 inches deep. The original cushions need to be replaced. We have been selling fine antiques for 32 years and have never seen a set like this one.
