Rothschild and Herman S. Gelbin. Stuart also owned the famous John Widdicomb Company. The Stuart showroom became one of the premier Modern Show rooms in the world showing Scandinavian designs. It was the only air-conditioned showroom in NYC in 1940. This Modern furniture movement coffee table measures 30 inches wide by 30 inches deep and 19 and three quarter inches high. Made from solid teak.The original John Stuart round black label is on the underside.

- - - - - - - - | Early American Pennsylvania curly maple rocker c1750 Item # 5352 Click HERE to inquire about this item Early American Pennsylvania curly maple rocker c1750.This early country rocker measures 38 and one half inches to the top of its back, 17 inches across its front, 14 inches across its back and 15 and one half inches to the top of its seat. Excellent condition including the rush seat. Both side rails have pronounced curly maple. This always was a rocker, not cut down from a chair. American country five slat back rockers are unusual and hard to come by. To see a similar example and reference to this form being original see The Rocking Chair an American Institution by Walter A. Dyer and Esther S. Fraser 1928 page 25. This rocker is also quite comfortable.
