- - | Antique Inlaid Colonial Revival Side Chair Item # 3038 Click HERE to inquire about this item This chair is probably made of mahogany. It was made circa 1925. The style is referred to as Colonial Revival, aka Governor Winthrop. During the early part of the 20th century, the styles of the American Colonial era (circa 1650-1800) were widely reproduced. Those reproductions were not exact copies of earlier period styles, but were mixed interpretations of those styles. This chair mixes the arms and seat of a Windsor chair with the inlaid splat of a Chippendale chair with the turned legs and spindles of a Pilgrim chair. This was all very typical of the nineteen tens and twenties. Excellent condition
