Antique French Bombay marquetry Chest

Item # 3790
Click HERE to inquire about this item

Antique French Bombay Chest with marquetry and inlay. This lovely piece of French furniture was made in the 1930's and is in very good as found original condition. This French Bombay chest measures 45 and one half inches wide by 34 and three quarter inches high. This antique French furniture piece measures 19 and one half inches deep. The drawers are 28 and one quarter inches wide, the top drawer is 3 inches deep and the other two are 6 inches deep. The two rings you see in the photograph of the top are wear marks that were made by a plant or vase that sat on the top of the piece and removed some of the top finish. These marks do not go into the wood. They show up in the photograph because the flash of the camera picked up this area due to the fact that it now has a flat not semi gloss finish like the rest of the surface. In person it is almost impossible to see. I had to really look at the piece to see what you were asking about. If the top had a new coat of finish this would not show at all. We can not imagine that this would bother anyone upon seeing the piece in person.
