There is an old tag on the bottom from a New York dealer stating the seat is a combination of horse and hog hair. The drawers are all made with large hand cut dovetails and hand chamfered bottoms. The back has hand chamfered raised panels. This chest is made from solid matched mahogany and measures 45 inches wide, 23 and one half inches deep at the center, 20 and one half at the sides, and 37 inches high.
