This mahogany table is American and was made most probably in the late 18 the century. Dovetailed tripod pedestal base. Two single mahogany boards make up the 36 inch round top which is 28 inches high when closed. All orginal. The condition is excellent with an old rich deep waxed patina. There is one original cabinet makers repair to the top where the cabinet maker took out a knot and set in a square piece of mahogany that is nearly impossible to see. Just in from a CT estate. This This assembled set of Victorian Walnut chairs is best of the best. We have never had higher quality chairs from this period. There are two pairs that are almost identical. The only difference is the carving on the front bottom face. The rest of the chairs detail are the same. The condition of the chairs is excellent being quite strong and sturdy. One upholstered seat has an old water stain which is hard to notice and should be able to be removed by a professional. The chairs each measure 34 inches high,16 inches deep,17 and one half inches to the top of their seats,and 18 inches wide at the front. This of the period modern Danish "Hans Wegner" set of six wishbone dining chairs where purchased by the original owner in 1949 when they first came out. Each chair measures 28 and one half inches to the top of their backs and 27 and one half inches to the top of the front of the arm.17 inches to the top of their seats and 20 and one half inches deep. Original "Illums Bolighus Kobenhavn" label is on the bottom of each chair. This set of chairs is in mint original condition including their seats. This Modern Movement wood foot stool was made from a solid stock of walnut. The top is curved and dished so it is very comfortable to sit on as well. The legs come through the top and are set with dark walnut wedges to hold them in place. This is a very well constructed and designed stool but it is not signed by the maker.
