This table is not Spanish. I am certain it is Mexican, made in the late 19th to early 20th century. The straight legs scrolled at the top and feet are typical of Mexican cabinetry. The shells and open carvings are influenced by both native Aztec art and traditional Spanish motifs brought to Mexico by the conquerors. It is this blend of the native and invading cultures that gives Mexico its distinctive design imprint
