English Chinese Chippendale drop front desk c1840 to 1860

Antique English Chinese Chippendale drop front desk c1840 to 1860. This drop front Chippendale writing desk measures 39 inches wide, 22 inches deep, 32 inches to the writing surface and 43 and one half inches high. The inside writing surface is 22 inches when the 14 and one half inch lid is down. There are six small drawers along with one large drawer across the top. There is also a interior compartment with door that opens to reveal a small drawer, storage and a secret drawer. Made from fine rich mahogany. This desk comes apart in two pieces. A top with the drop lid and the bottom with two drawers on four legs ending in hand carved ball and claw feet. Condition. There are some minor old repairs to the case here and there and the drop lid has a slight warp, which is to expected from a piece from this time period. All the drawers work fine and the leather is in excellent condition. Original old waxed finish.

Centennial Spanish walnut and iron bench c1875. This bench was completely hand made from wide walnut boards with hand wrought iron base braces. This is a true copy of a 16th century Spanish bench. Measures 51 inches wide, 15 and one half inches deep, 16 and one half inches to the top of its seat,31 and three quarter inches to the top back board and 33 inches to the top of the side supports. Excellent original condition.

American Federal work table, bible stand c1822 Joel Curtis. This period mahogany work stand is attributed to Joel Curtis in NY c1822. Excellent condition with superior solid mahogany top and curved cut out sides. The base has a center turned pedestal that ends in four fluted legs. The bottom has lovely large hand cut dovetails and original brass casters. Measures 32 and three quarter inches high by 22 and one half inches wide, and 16 and one quarter inches deep. Replaced brasses. One of the best pieces of Period American Federal furniture we have come across in a long time.

Eight American Hepplewhite style wheat carved dining chairs c1880 to1900. A true set of eight hand made solid matched mahogany Federal style dining room chairs, consisting of two arm and six side chairs. Strong, comfortable and in pristine condition. This set is unsigned but the quality of Margolis, Nutting or Fineburg. The arm chairs each measure 38 and three quarter inches high, 18 and three quarter inches to the top of their upholstered seats,22 inches wide and 18 inches deep. The side chairs each measure 37 and three quarter inches high by 17 inches deep, 20 inches wide and 18 and three quarter inches to the top of their seats.

18th century English country elm tripod base candlestand c1740. This early English candle stand has a lovely old waxed patina. Measures 26 inches high with a 18 inches top. The condition is very good with just one repair to the round under brace that holds the top, which is to be expected form an early 18th century stand
