This French Victorian faux Bamboo armoire measures 91 inches high by 37 inches wide by 17 inches deep. Excellent condition with original key and plate glass mirror. Wide hand cut dovetail construction on back and drawer sides.This rare piece of period French bamboo furniture was made between C1860 and 1875. The last wardrobe of this fine quality that we acquired was over 10 years ago. This piece could easily be made into a china cabinet with a bronze or brass open diamond grated wire front. This Hepplewhite work stand has nice high straight tappered legs with wide handcut dovetailed drawers. This early night stand retains its excellent original waxed honey patina. All original except for the later replaced drawer pulls. This stand has a hand planed single board top nailed down with square headed handmade nails which would be correct for the early 1790 period not the later screwed down version of this same design from 1810.
