Period English sterling silver fish server with bight cut open work design depicting a fish surrounded by acorns and leaves. The workmanship on this piece was obviously done by a master silver smith. We can tell by the date marks that it dates from 1781 to 1782 but we are not sure of the maker. This fish server measures 12 and one half inches long and weighs 237 grams of silver. This sterling silver "S Kirk and Son" tray weighs 505 grams and measures 13 and one half inches from handle to handle,7 inches across the center. The design depicts roses,trumpet flowers and leaves. The handles are made to look like twigs and the boarder is a foliate design. There is a number 2622 S Kirk and Son and 17 oz mark on the back. C1846 to 1861.
