Early Portrait miniature gentleman on ivory American Item # 4537 Click HERE to inquire about this item Portrait of gentleman on ivory American late 18th to early 19th century. This American portrait on ivory miniature is framed in solid gold. Most probably 15k. The portrait has very little paint loss and a small amount of edge flaking at the top right . Set into its original case which is in excellent condition. The painting is is of the highest quality equal to any in the "Love and Loss" American Portrait and Mourning Miniatures" by Robin Jaffee Frank. The back of the frame is almost identical to the one shown in the picture back dust jacket of the book. The man is quite handsome with a warm smile,curly hair and lovely eyes.This portrait measures 3 and one half inches by 3 inches and was painted with a cobalt blue back ground. Emerald and diamond gold ring Item # 4546 Click HERE to inquire about this item This cut emerald is mounted in a four claw setting and measures 8.9 x 6.9 x 4.8 = 2.40 CT(est). Slightly bluish green color, I clarity, moderate saturation, medium tone, and fair cut.The emerald is surrounded by ten round cut diamonds, six marquise cut diamonds, two tapered baguette cut diamonds, and four baguette cut diamonds. The baguettes measure: .18 (2), .11 (2), and .05 (2); total weight .68 CT. The marquises measure: 12 (4) and .10 (2); total weight .68 CT. The rounds measure: .04 (8) and .025 (2); total weight .42 CT. Total diamond weight is 1.78 CT. The ring is not stamped but did test at 14K. It weighs 5.8 grams. The distinctive array of diamonds set the emerald off impressively. We have provided a photograph of the GIA appraisal that came with the ring. This period antique "Etruscan Revival " rose gold cameo set. This period antique estate jewelry set was retailed by the E (Eugene) Jaccard Jewelry Co in St Louis, Missouri. The pin measures 2 and five eighths inches wide by 1 and one quarter inches wide. The earrings each measure 1 and three quarter inches long and 7 eighth inches wide. They still have their original ear wires. The brooch weighs 21 grams and the earrings weigh 14 grams. The cameos have the best carving detail of any Etruscan Revival set we have seen.
