Pair of solid maple twin beds with acorn top posts. New England, circa 1820. The beds were originally rope beds. They were modified to fix rail beds with iron brackets. Extremely strong. Each bed measures 46 inches high to top of the posts. The headboards measure 18.75 inches x 36 inches. The outside length of the bed is 83.75 inches and the inside measurement is 76.5 inches. The outside width of the bed is 38 inches and the inside width is 36 inches. The posts are 3.75 inches square. The turned foot-board is 36 inches high. The rails are 5.5 inches high x 1 inch thick, and are 20.75 inches high. Beautiful condition.
