Vintage J. L. Treharn tiger maple pencil post queen size bed with canopy rails. Beautifully pronounced tiger grain on every part of the bed, even the rails. The bed is an exact copy of an 18th century bed, whose mattress would have been supported on ropes woven to the bed frame. Adhering to authenticity, Treharn put holes in the foot rail of his bed. J. L. Treharn, of Youngstown, Ohio, no longer produces hand crafted furniture. Measures 86.5 inches high to the top of the finals, 44.25 inches high to top of the headboard, and 25.5 inches high to the bottom of the headboard; 64 x 86.5 inches outside and 61 x 84.5 inches inside; 16 inches high to the top of the rails and 11 inches clearance to the bottom of the rails. Mattress slats are not pictured but are included. Excellent condition.
