Stunning vintage Murano blown black glass bowl with 'scavo' (rough textured) outer surface. Signed on the bottom Barbini Murano, made circa 1970. Measures 9.75" across by 3.25" high. Scavo is a specific glass finishing technique. A special corrosive chemical is used on the surface of the glass piece to dissolve part of the finish to give it an etched or corroded look. This glass usually has an iron oxide finish. Excellent condition with some etched marks on the ground base commensurate with its age.
