Richard Claude Ziemann etching Maple Leaves and Vines, 1978-80, signed lower right. Excellent condition. The silver leaf frame measures 30.25 x 38 inches and the sight area measures 29.5 x 21.5 inches. Richard Claude Ziemann was born in 1932. He is the foremost etcher-engraver of landscapes in America. He received in BFA and MBA from Yale University; and he has taught at Yale, Lehman College, and Hunter College, CUNY, where is Professor Emeritus. He was artist in residence at University of Massachusetts, Amherst; University of Notre Dame, and Dartmouth College. He is the recipient of a Fulbright Grant, Tiffany Foundation Grant, and National Institute of Art and Letters Grant. Mr. Ziemann lives and creates new works at his home in Chester, CT. His work is displayed in America's major museums including the National Collection of Fine Arts, Smithsonian Institution; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC; The Library of Congress, D.C.; Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, Yale University Art Gallery. Solo exhibitions include Manchester Community College, CT; Rhode Island College, Providence; Jane Haslem Gallery, DC; Alpha Gallery, Boston; Bowdoin College Museum of Art, , Brooklyn Museum of Art, Francis Kyle Gallery, London, Peter Rose Gallery, NYC.
