The inside cover has a book-plate by George Ravenscroft Dennis. Containing over one hundred and fifty-nine engraved plates, including notable pieces such as Gin Lane, the work contains descriptions and analysis of many beauties that have hitherto escaped notice , as well as commentary on the moral tendency of the works by the Rev. John Trusler, a notable eccentric and literary compiler. Condition: In decorative morocco binding with gilt detailing. Externally sound, there is wear to the boards, joints, extremities and backstrips, with some strain to hinges but overall very good original condition. Each of the two volumes measures 12.25 inches high x 10 inches wide and 1.75 inches thick.
