Marion Huse (1896-1967) impressionist landscape oil painting of Les Beaux France dated 1947. Oil on artist's paper, deacessioned from a noted New England museum. Founder of her own art school in Springfield, MA, Huse was director of Massachusetts' WPA Art Project in the 1940s. Her works were exhibited and acclaimed throughout New England, New York and abroad, including Paris and Munich. She studied at Boston's New School of Design and Pittsburgh's Carnegie Institute. Well listed in Who Was Who in American Art, Ask Art, Davenport's, Art Net, etc. The frame is 21.5" H x 25.5" W. The painting is 17.5" W x 12.5" H. Excellent condition. Notations on the back read: #59 Marion Huse Les Beaux France Huse inventory #1519. Signed lower right Marion Huse 1947.
