Early English mahogany architect's desk, circa 1790. Early desks designed for architects are quite rare. The top adjusts in two directions. The drawer opens and has a writing surface that can slide back revealing compartments for drafting tools. There is also a box that swings in and out of the drawer. Original hardware.
