Antique Nathan Margolis mahogany Chippendale style slant front desk dated 1917. Beautifully fitted interior, ball and claw feet. The early examples of Nathan Margolis furniture bore hand written paper receipts glued to the back boards, and this desk bears a label that states: "This desk was made for Mr Frank D Glazier by Nathan Margolis Hartford Conn and was given to Mr Philip A Galzier Sept 25, 1917." It measures 34 inches wide, 40.75 inches high and 19.75 inches deep. Excellent condition with original finish. Handmade from the finest perfectly matched solid mahogany available at that time. Nathan Margolis reproduced the finest 18th and early 19th century American antiques during the early 20th century by coping examples in the collections of America's most important museums.
