Early Northern Chinese earthenware jar in brown glaze with pressed cord textured surface. Made sometime between the 11th and 16th centuries. This form of workaday pottery remained relatively unchanged throughout this time span, and is difficult to precisely date. It measures 15 inches high and 12 inches wide at center. Very good condition with only one small rim chip.
