Falconry

Falconry resources: history information links: sport rules

Falconry is the art of hunting wild prey with trained birds. It seems that falconry originated in the Far East. Japanese records tell of trained goshawks introduced from China in 244 AD. Almost certainly, falconry came to Europe from Germanic tribes.
