This sideboard is unsigned but was made by Harold Margolis. It was purchased by our consignors parents from Harold Margolis with a table and six chairs which are signed. The side board measures 66 inches wide by 41 and one half inches high. It is 19 and one half inches deep at both ends and 27 and one half inches in the middle. There are two drawers inside the two front doors. Serpentine front with straight tapered legs. The legs, top, and most all edges of the side board have a lovely inset inlay. Made from the finest solid matching mahogany. The Margolis furniture store was in Hartford CT. They reproduced the best examples of period 18th and early 19thc American furniture designs during the early 20th century $6950 |

This Baker dining set was purchased new 25 years ago and hardly ever used. Each piece was hand made from the finest matching mahogany. There are twelve chairs, consisting of three arms and 9 sides. Ten have matching blue silk damask material and one side and arm have a matching silk stripe. The table has two leaves, two center pedestals and banded inlay around its top. The sideboard is serpentine with straight tapered legs, and has all over inlay. The chairs each measure 38.5 inches to the top of their backs, 19 inches to the top of their seats, and 27 inches top of arms. The table measures 72 inches long by 42 inches wide closed, and has two 18 inches leaves for a total of 108 inches.The sideboard measures 69.5 inches long by 27 inches deep in the top center, 42 inches high. $24500 |

 click to enlarge | Item #: 5135 Early Irish furniture dairy table c1820 to 1840 Antique early Irish furniture dairy table c1820 to 1840. This is a superb piece of true period antique Irish pine. It has a wonderful old waxed finish, and is in great condition. The top is made from two wide boards.The frame has mortise and pin construction, and there are wide hand cut dovetails on the back board and drawer sides. This form is quite rare and it is the only one we have ever had the opportunity to offer. It measures 61 inches wide, 27 and one half inches deep, 30 and one half inches to the the work surface, 35 and one half inches to the top of the backsplash, 7 inches to the bottom rack surface. There are 12 inches between the rack and the apron below the drawers. One drawer is 31 and one half by 7 inches, and two drawers are 9 by 7 inches. The back of the milk bench is finished so it could be attractively used as an island in the center of a kitchen. The top is a great work surface, and the milk rack is perfect for crockery and copper pots. It would also work beautifully in a potting room for arranging flowers. $10750 |
