Rare museum quality Kangxi period Tibetan scholar's lift top scroll chest. Late 17th to early 18th century. Exquisitely hand painted front panel depicts a magnificent writhing dragon amid blue and green clouds on a red orange ground; the side panels are in tiger pelt motif. All original including the hand wrought iron hardware. It measures 41 inches high by 58 inches wide by 19.5 inches deep. This is one of the most stunning examples of Chinese painted furniture we have ever seen. Tibetan storage trunk circa 1800. Measures 33 inches wide by 18.5 inches deep by 22 inches to the surface and 25 inches to the turnings. Built in traditional Tibetan style, the top surface is constructed of two boards. The front board slides back to reveal the open interior storage compartment. The opening measures 8.5 inches deep.

Marglis Hartford CT four drawer bow front dresser c1930
This piece is an exact hand made reproduction of an American Connecticut Country Chippendale bow front graduated four drawer chest with fluted columns, on OG footed base. The drawers are all made with large hand cut dovetails and hand chamfered bottoms. The back has hand chamfered raised panels. This chest is made from solid matched mahogany and measures 45 inches wide, 23 and one half inches deep at the center, 20 and one half at the sides, and 37 inches high. This piece is unsigned but clearly made by Margolis c1930. The Nathan Margolis company in Hartford CT. Nadeau Auction had exact match with a paper label at one of their recent sales.

We can not find other examples of this foot being used on four drawer chests made in the CT River Valley in the 18th century. Excellent condition with virtually no repairs.Perfect old color just the way we want to see a period chest. This graduated drawer chest even has its original brasses. Measures 37 and three quarter inches wide across its top, 36 inches across its case, 18 inches deep, 36 and one half inches high with four graduated drawers that measure 7 inches, 6 inches, 5 and one quarter inches and 4 and one half inches.

The slide is covered with leather and was used to place or fold clothing. The drawers each have hand cut dovetails and the bottoms are beveled. The back boards are dovetailed into the case and the drawer slides are held in with wooden pins. Solid brass hand made hardware. Wallace Nutting Furniture Sheraton style chests or dresser match pair
Wallace Nutting Furniture. This true and rare pair of Sheraton style chests or dressers were made from fine solid mahogany. This matched pair has wooden pin construction, sugar pine secondary wood, turned legs and solid brass hardware. Wallace Nutting produced some of the finest bench made, handmade American furniture in the American Federal style in the early 20th century. Each of these two hand made dressers measures 37 and three quarter inches wide by 37 and one half inches high and 18 and one half inches deep. The mahogany is a true match but the finish on each one is a bit different. One was refinished to show its deep rich mahogany color several years ago and the other one retains its old finish, so they do not look exactly the same. Eldred Wheeler Reproduction Tiger Maple Country Chippendale Chest
Eldred Wheeler Reproduction Tiger Maple "Country Chippendale Chest". This hand made bench made "Tiger Maple Chest" was one of the first pieces made by Eldred Wheeler and purchased by our client in the 1970's.The Eldred Wheeler company made some of their most superb examples of Period American Country tiger maple furniture at that time. The tiger maple in this case piece is very pronounced and has a deep rich color. The front cross braces are dovetailed into the case and the drawers have chamfered bottoms, along with wide hand cut dovetails and high bracket feet. The top measures 38 inches wide, 22 inches deep and the case is both 35 inches wide and high. This case piece has a slide that measures 30 and one quarter inches wide by 13 inches deep. The top drawer measures 4 and one quarter inches by 33 and one half inches. The two raised panel doors each measure 20 high by 16 and one half inches wide.

Early country Pine chest on frame c1720 to 1750. This period American Pine chest is in excellent condition. Pieces from this period are near impossible for us to come by. This chest retains its original base which is quite unusual. Most bases on chests from this period are replace or changed. The chest has had some restoration which includes a replaced top molding and brasses. The chest measures 36 and one quarter inches wide and 20 inches deep at the case, 40 inches wide and 21 and three quarters inches across the top molding and 38 and one half inches wide and 21 inches deep at the base. The graduated drawers are 8 and one half inches at the bottom then,7,6,5,4 inches each as they rise. The top,feet and case are all hand dovetailed. This chest is in good strong condition with no loose back boards,case or drawers.
Antique French Bombay marquetry Chest
Antique French Bombay Chest with marquetry and inlay. This lovely piece of French furniture was made in the 1930's and is in very good as found original condition. This French Bombay chest measures 45 and one half inches wide by 34 and three quarter inches high. This antique French furniture piece measures 19 and one half inches deep. The drawers are 28 and one quarter inches wide, the top drawer is 3 inches deep and the other two are 6 inches deep.The two rings you see in the photograph of the top are wear marks that were made by a plant or vase that sat on the top of the piece and removed some of the top finish. These marks do not go into the wood. They show up in the photograph because the flash of the camera picked up this area due to the fact that it now has a flat not semi gloss finish like the rest of the surface. In person it is almost impossible to see. I had to really look at the piece to see what you were asking about. If the top had a new coat of finish this would not show at all. We can not imagine that this would bother anyone upon seeing the piece in person.

"Victorian chestnut dresser" This antique chestnut chest of drawers measures 35 inches high and is 38 inches wide and 19 inches deep. This chest of drawers has a secret drawer on its bottom. The bottom molding or skirt hides a secret drawer. During the Victorian times people would have lots of boarders and this was a way of hiding items so they would not be stolen. Only the home owner new it was there. Excellent condition with all the drawers working perfectly.
