Set of six signed Wallace Nutting dining chairs.Wallace Nutting began making reproductions of 18th century American furniture in 1917. This set of chairs was hand made between 1926 and 1937. The number 480 is a furniture design number. Armchairs were numbered 401 to 499, and side chairs were numbered 301 to 399. The chairs are solid maple and feature Spanish feet, carved rails, and flat spindles. The design originated in New England, circa 1700. This set, consisting of 2 armchairs and 4 side chairs. There is an old repair to one crest and one side chair upright. The seats are original to the chairs. We would recommend using seat cushions with tie backs. because there are some breaks in the splint seats and they do get brittle over time or one could have them re woven. The arms chairs each measure 49 inches high, 22 inches deep, and 24 inches wide and 19 inches to the top of their seats. The side chairs each measure 49 inches high, by 20 inches wide by 19 inches to the top of the seats.
