RARE ! Antique mixed metal sterling silver melon knife and fork combination. This Victorian sterling silver mixed metal fork and knife has it original gold plate along with a mixed metal floral and leaf design. This piece was the hall mark of T. Evans & Co. From New York New York.Theodore Evans was the son of Henry Evans. He succeeded his father as Evans & Anderson(1864 to 1866)The mixed metal has both the quality and look of some the Gorham and Tiffany pieces I have seen. To see and example of this hallmark go to Encycolpedia of American Manufacturers by Dorothy T. Rainwater page 57.This piece measures 6 and and one quarter inches long and weights 29 grams.
