American Federal period American tall chest with 8 graduated drawers. Excellent condition. Signed in chalk by the maker and marked XIX for 1809. Oval inlay, inset wooden key escutcheons, and hand block-planed original back boards set with rose head nails. All original base glue blocks set with rose head nails. Wide hand-cut dovetailed drawers and single board top. All the drawers work effortlessly, no over-worn drawer slides. This is one of the most original pieces we have offered. Measures 60" high x 44/40" wide x 21/18.74" deep.
Eldred Wheeler tiger maple double settee in the Chippendale style of 1780 to 1790. Measures 59" wide x 21" deep; 40" high to the back, 26.5" high to the arms, and 20' high to the seat. Wooden pin construction, carved center shells. Like new condition. Eldred Wheeler was established in 1977 and is no longer in business. English Georgian period mahogany tambour top desk circa 1790-1820. Rectangular top with tambour roll opening to expose a pull-out writing surface with adjustable ratcheted green leather slant lid. Cubby hole interior, ratcheted slide writing pull outs, two hand-cut dove tail drawers, tapered legs ending on solid brass casters. Measures 30 inches wide, 22 inches deep and 31 inches to pull out writing surface. Original finish, later brass pulls, some normal traces of usage. Excellent working order. Measures 38" high to the top, 30.75" high to the surface, 30" wide and 22.5" deep.
Rare French "os de mouton" French walnut armchair, circa 1700. Excellent untouched condition. Beautiful original surface patina, hand-cut mortised joints held with wooden pins. Measures 45.5" high to the back, 19" high to the seat, 25.5" high to the upper arms, 26" wide and 19.5" deep. Newly professionally upholstered in straw yellow linen. Excellent condition, strong and sturdy.
