Antique American silver plated ewer
Antique ewers,"Antique American silver plate,ewer,American, Leonard Reed and Barton Silver plated ewer #2900 circa 1837-1840. This silver plated line along with # 2700 and # 2800 were credited with saving the newly named Co from failure after the great depression of 1837. These designs were English in origin and had already proven their worth. See "American Silverplate" by Dorothy T. Rainwater and H Ivan Rainwzater c1968 Published by Thomas Nelson & Sons page 29.
