French armchair in flame stitch c1800Louis XVI open armchair circa 1800. Hand carved pale walnut frame was originally painted white or gray. Bits of paint still remain in crevices. Wool flame stitch upholstery is in shades of mauve, taupe, and ivory. Good estate condition, lovely patina. 36" H to back, 17" H to seat, 19" W at back, 25" W at seat, and 20" D. |
