Marion Huse abstract expressionist cityscape painting c1950An important Marion Huse (1896--1967) abstract expressionist cityscape painting (c. 1950), oil on canvas, signed lower right, deacession from a noted New England Museum. Founder of her own Art School in Springfield, Mass., Huse was Director of Massachusetts' WPA Art Project in the 1940s. Her works were exhibited and acclaimed throughout New England, New York and abroad, including Paris and Munich.She studied at Boston's New School of Design and Pittsburgh's Carnegie Institute.
