Embroidered Chinese silk bed cover or piano shawl c1920
Chinese silk on silk embroidered bed cover or piano shawl decorated profusely with multi-color flowers (both sides) on a pale yellow color background, boardered by a 6" crocheted fringe, ending in tassels. c. 1920. Dimensions: 60.5" x 62" plus boarder. This was a very difficult item to photograph and depict the color correctly. The closest image to its true color is the first one. The camera tends to make the pictures look more green than its true pale yellow. It is quite beautiful, very much a pale gold with a slight green cast. There is one small hole and a small stain which bled from the silk embroidery. We show these areas in the addtional pictures provided.
