American Empire marble top pier or console table c1840
A classic American Empire marble top pier or console table of mahogany and flame mahogany (pine secondary) woods, surmounted by a cove edged whitish marble slab set on a bullnose frame, supported by exhuberant paired scroll shape columns; the original inset mirror back above a shaped platform, elevated by scroll design front and block rear feet. Marble appears original or off the period, no breaks or restorations (note a natural 6" fissure topside and an old chip underside). New York, C. 1840 43 1/4" L x 19 1/2" D x 36" H
