Figured maple document box c1800
Fine birdseye maple document box mounted in hand cut nickel plated brass. Lined with old Italian marbled paper. Ivory inset medallion features a rampant lion, a coat of arms, and the words SPES DARIT AUXILIUM. Measures 14.75 by 9.75 by 5.5 inches high. Circa 1790 to 1820.
