Solid mahogany serving trade by Harold Margolis Hartford CT
Solid mahogany dish carved serving trade by Harold Margolis Hartford CT. The Harold Margolis mark is burned into the back along with etched writing that states "Made for Mr and Mrs Newton C Brainard 1.23.61 Harold Margolis" Dish carved from a single piece of Cuban mahogany. Measures 15 inches wide, 12 inches deep and 1 inch thick. This tray is rare because it was made by special order. The Margolis furniture store reproduced the best examples of period 18th and early 19thc American furniture designs during the early 20th century
