17th. century German iron box with painted portraits of Roman emperors Very rare Renaissance iron box with original key and complicated locking mechanism. Painted on all sides, with portrait medallions of Roman emperors wearing laurel wreaths. Paint is remarkably well preserved. German, 17th century. Measures 10 and one half inches high by 17 inches wide and 7 and one half inches deep. Excellent condition.
