Sterling silver pitcher and sugar T J Megear Phila. 1833
Sterling silver pitcher and sugar T J Megear Phila. 1833. Matched set creamer and two handled covered sugar. Two handled cups were commissioned by the wealthy to mark important occasions. The form derived from English Church plate of earlier centuries. The sugar measures 10 inches high and the creamer 7 and one half. The sugar weighs 467 grams and the covered creamer weighs 980. Excellent condition, signed on base.
