Antique Estate Jewelry diamond bar pin c1890 to 1900. Because of its size and quality this is a very rare piece of American Victorian Jewelry measuring 4 and one quarter inches long by nine sixteenths inches wide. The six center European cut diamonds are graded S-1/H-I and weigh .48 carat total. They are surrounded by a circle of tiny simulated emeralds. These are original to the pin; colored glass and synthetic accent stones were commonly used in fine jewelry of this period. The entire length of the this bar pin is inset with 69 rose cut diamonds weighing .50 carat total. There is also a bow design on both the left and right side of the center. The diamonds are set in a thick layer of platinum over a base of 18k yellow gold. Outstanding craftsmanship. Very good condition with one old repair to a small area of one of the diamond bows. Can be worn horizontally, or vertically on a jacket lapel.
