Chinese Jadeite jar with carved wood pedestal
Chinese Jadeite jar on carved wood pedestal. This exquisite covered jar has smooth fluid open carved vines and blossoms. The lid is surmounted by a long tailed bird. The rosewood pedestal is carved to match the jar and inlaid with silver wire. The jar measures 8 inches high, and the pedestal is 2 inches high. Three small leaves are missing from the lid. The color striations in the jadeite are lavender, apple green, and milky white.
