Early Georgian hand wrought iron trivet kettle stand c1780Early Georgian hand wrought iron trivet kettle stand c1780. This iron pot stand or trivet is signed by the maker on the underside with the initials I B. The entire top surface was cut from a single piece of flat iron and then hand forged to form the open work design. The back has a penny foot and the front legs were formed form a single stock of iron that was hand welded by a master blacksmith. This period trivet measures 8 and one quarter inches high by 15 inches long and 7 inches wide. This is a true work of art |
