English Georgian yew wood oyster veneer four drawer chest c1740
Period English Georgian yew wood oyster veneer four drawer chest c1740. This antique English chest is quite rare with its oyster veneers on the top and drawer fronts. Some minor old repairs and replaced brasses. This middle Georgian chest probably had ball feet originally. They were replaced by a bracket base when Chippendale style came into fashion a few decades later. The drawers have large hand cut dovetails and line inlay. A handsome piece. It measures 37 and one half inches in both height and width, by 18 and one half deep.
