Japanese porcelian vase signed Fugakwa c1880

ITEM# 4447
Japanese porcelian vase signed Fugakwa c1880

Japanese porcelian vase signed Fugakwa c1880. Japanese Imari vase, made during the Meiji era, circa 1880 to 1890. The 6 iron-red marks on the bottom are those of Koransha (Company of the Scented Orchid), established in Arita, Japan, in 1875. Koransha was founded by Ezaiemon Fukagawa to produce porcelain wares for export to the West. Imari porcelains were produced by several factories, but those made by the Fukagawa family are considered the finest. This vase's beautifully hand-painted design depicts a falcon perched in a prunus tree, and 2 cranes in a bamboo grove. Imari porcelains were not signed by individual artists, and some do not even bear factory marks

Thank you for your quick reply. I am really shocked at the price. I knew many people here wanted it, but probably figured I didn't know what I had and they wanted to buy it for nothing. I am glad I held on to it.
Thanks again!
