This is an interesting oil painting because it is an interpretive copy of a very well known renaissance portrait of an Italian noblewoman painted by Raphael in the early 16th century. Her high forehead, headdress, and tapestry gown are unmistakable. I say interpretive because the artist, Knitch, painted his version of the Renaissance masterpiece in an abstract, modern way
