Pair Victorian Walnut parlor chairs c1890. Victorian armchairs. The scroll-carved frame, which appears to be walnut, was rough-cut by machine, and finished by hand. The same pair of chairs made a few decades earlier would have been entirely hand-carved, with rounded backs instead of flat backs. The Industrial Revolution changed things a bit. These chairs are very attractive, and have been reupholstered beautifully.

Thank you for your quick reply. I am really shocked at the price. I knew many people here wanted it, but probably figured I didn't know what I had and they wanted to buy it for nothing. I am glad I held on to it.
