Ancient Egyptian speckled diorite jar 3500 to 3200 BC
Ancient Egyptian speckled diorite jar. Late Pre Dynastic Period circa 3500 to 3200 BC with heavy horizontally pierced lug handles and flattened rim. Measures 3 inches high and 4 inches handle to handle and 4 and three eighths inches across. There are some old inventory numbers on this piece. One is a paper label #260 and the other is the number 53 written in ink. Just in from a CT Estate. This piece was purchase over 50 years ago from a Antiquities dealer in New York by the family that consigned them to us
