Horner Slant front inlaid desk c1880. This Horner desk was made from mahogany and inlaid with exotic woods to resemble 16th century Dutch designs. Horner was famous for his reproductions of important earlier designs during the late 19th century. Horner was an American New York furniture maker of the finest furniture of his time.The desk is in mint original condition and the color rich just the way we like to see it The inlay depicts flowers, birds,butterflies,vines and leaves. What is amazing is Horner even inlaid the sides of the drawer which can only be seen when the drawer is opened. Measures 37 and one half inches high,18 inches deep,27 inches wide and 30 inches wide at the leg knees. It is 28 and one half inches to the writing surface which is 21 inches deep when open. The lid measures 12 inches.The single drawer measures 24 inches wide and 4 and one half inches high.
