Vintage English Georgian style Furniture flattop mahogany desk
Vintage English Georgian style Furniture flattop mahogany desk. This style of desk came about during the reign of King George III 1780 (hence, the term Georgian). This desk was probably made around 1940 to 1950. The particular style of carving around all the edges of this desk is called a gadroon edge.The edge on this desk was machine-carved and hand finished. The legs and feet were machine turned, but also carved and finished in detail by hand. Dovetailed drawers, good proportions, and attractive design details make this a high quality piece of furniture.
